Unlocking the task
You'll unlock this task while talking to Klaasje as part of the Get the whole story from Titus task. Ask Klaasje about Ruby's whereabouts and you will be sent back to Titus.
Talking to Titus about Ruby
Talking to Titus will be far from easy because he believes that Ruby didn't shoot the mercenary. In the course of the conversation, you will have to pass a difficult Logic skill check to present your theory and give Titus some food for thought.
The test can be easier to pass if:
- You found the key to the secret passage through the Whirling-In-Rags building (it's in the cafeteria hanging in the window) and examined the room behind the blue door (task Explore the Whirling's secret passages);
- You noticed and examined a winch in the yard;
- You found an antique shotgun in the basement of the Doomed Commercial Area building (look for a safe in a small room next to the refrigerator) - this location could be explored as part of the Investigate the Doomed Commercial Area task;
- You got Klaasje to reveal her motive - she will then point you to Ruby (the interrogation is part of the Get the whole story from Titus task);
- You completed The Jam Mystery task and linked Ruby and the Hardie Boys to the drug trade.
In addition, before taking the test during the conversation with Titus, you can put on pieces of clothing that temporarily increase Logic.
Throughout the conversation, use whatever evidence you can find and be careful not to reveal any of your weaknesses to Titus (not to mention the character's missing weapon) because Titus will immediately use it against you and Harry will lose health or morale.
Eventually you will learn that Ruby may be hiding on the coast, but he doesn't know exactly where. A new task Ask about Ruby in the village will begin - we described it on a separate page of the guide. You can deal with this task no earlier than on the third day (access to the western part of the map is required). You'll receive 70 XP.
