Racial traits and proficiencies
After leaving early access, BG3 abandoned the mechanics of adding bonuses to stats depending on race. From now on, every player can choose a bonus 1 and 2 to any statistic, regardless of race. This means that choosing a race will mainly influence the look of your character and racial features.
Base race speed: the distance you can travel in each round is 30 metres.
Darkvision: Half-orcs have good vision in dark and dim locations. Range - up to 12 m.
Relentless Endurance
In situations where a Half-orc's HP drops to 0 and the attack doesn't kill you, instead of entering a state of agony, the hero returns to life with 1 HP.
This trait can turn the tide of many dangerous encounters. An additional turn stemming from the fact that the hero stayed alive may open a possibility of quick healing or dealing a decisive blow to the opponent.
The skill activates one time only and is reset after a long rest.
Savage Attacks
The sheer physical force and aggressiveness of Half-orcs make them deal extra damage with each critical hit. The bonus is equal to one weapon damage dice roll.
Savage Attacks is a passive ability and activates with each critical hit with a melee weapon.
Half-orc - best class
Half-orcs' offensive and defensive traits makes them perfect for the role of a "tank". Due to the nature how Savage Attacks and Relentless Endurance work, Half-orcs work best as melee fighters.
For this reason, we suggest choosing a class like Barbarian, Fighter or Paladin.
