In hot seat mode, as in shared or split-screen, the game is played locally on a single console or computer. Two or more players do not play at the same time, however, but in turns. This form of multiplayer is most common in turn-based strategy games (e.g. Worms, Heroes of Might and Magic), card games, board games, etc.

For the King is an interesting hybrid that blends the elements of JRPGs, roguelikes, and strategy games, developed by the independent studio IronOak Games. The game takes place in a fantasy land engulfed by chaos. Heroes, led by the player, decide to defeat the evil forces. Both the world and the adventures within it are generated procedurally. Each time we start, we will feel as if we were playing a different, new game. Gameplay in For the King focuses on exploration (our party moves in turns through a map divided into hexagonal tiles, traveling not only on foot, but also by boat) and fighting with the encountered enemies. Our victory in battle depends on how, and when, we use our party members' abilities and on how good their equipment is. For the King offers a wide range of game modes, both single player and multiplayer. The game has good looking, colorful, and cartoonish visuals.
Carcassonne: Tiles & Tactics

In Carcassonne, the game plays out in rounds and during the game itself we lay tiles, thus expanding our sphere of influence or blocking the development opportunities of our opponents. The title allows you to play in single player, as well as in multiplayer battles.

Wargroove 2 is the second installment in a series of turn-based tactical strategies inspired by Fire Emblem and Advance Wars. Once again, it takes place in a fantasy realm of Anaria, where we can once again follow the story or face other players.
Baladins
RPG 2025
A fantasy RPG, in which we play as the titular baladins, trying to entertain a certain dragon. Baladins is playable in singleplayer, though the game was created with co-op in mind. A single session of the game was designed to last about an hour.

While playing, we trade real estates and build houses and hotels that provide us with income since any player has to pay rent if they step into another player’s property. The game takes place on one of three three-dimensional levels such as Classic City, Amusement Park, or Haunted Town. Monopoly for Nintendo Switch offers a wide range of game modes for up to six players. The title utilizes the unique features of Nintento’s console, including HD Rumble, its advanced vibration system.
Wargroove

Wargroove is a turn-based strategy inspired by Advance Wars and the Fire Emblem game series. It was developed by Chucklefish. The game is made of twelve story campaigns, in which we can play as one of a dozen or so heroes, each of them leading their own military units. As we play, we move around the game map (we observe the action from a bird's eye perspective), gather resources, manage our army, and fight with our opponents. Exploration, both on land and sea, plays a crucial role in the game. Wargroove also offers a competitive multiplayer (local or online). The game comes with a special editor that allows us to create our own campaigns. Thanks to its simple and intuitive interface our maps and missions are created in no time.
