The Acolyte is a brand new TV series from the Star Wars universe, which will soon be seen on Disney+. This production is expected to show us a times not previously explored in live-action productions from the Star Wars universe, so it should be a certain breath of fresh air for fans who have been following the series for a long time. The Acolyte should also be a gateway for those who want to just start their Star Wars adventure, as you can treat this TV show as a separate production, for which you don't need to know any of the previous ones.

So, since we're about to see a whole new era that hasn't yet been shown in live-action productions, where is The Acolyte actually set in the Star Wars timeline? The story will be set 100 years before The Phantom Menace, in the time of the Great Republic. It was a golden era for the Jedi, who, although not part of the Galactic Republic, worked closely with it while continuing their fight for peace. The Jedi were spread throughout the Galaxy, operating from their many bases.

So, we'll find out what the Jedi were like back in the days when they were at the height of their powers and were open to the rest of the world. This will be something new, since most Star Wars live-action productions are set in a time when the ranks of the Jedi have been decimated and they are forced into hiding as the hunt for them continues.

The premiere of The Acolyte on Disney+ is scheduled for June 4. The Star Wars TV series is expected to consist of 8 episodes, which will be released weekly. You can watch the trailer below.
