The First Descendant – How to Locate and Open Encrypted Vault

As you explore the map in The First Descendant, you’ll encounter a small, glowing squares. If you scan with these objects (by pressing TAB on PC), you will hear a distant chime. Locate the source of the chime, the closer you get, the louder the sound becomes. Keep scanning the area to ensure you're on the right track.

Once you find a weird coffin in the upright position, that’s your target: the Encrypted Vault. To open it, you’ll need a consumable resource called a Precision Code Analyzer or Code Analyzer. Theses can be obtained as drops while completing missions. Opening the vault involves a minigame. Precision Code Analyzers are more effective and have a lower chance of breaking compared to regular Code Analyzers. However, if you fail the minigame the analyzer will be destroyed.

The minigame is a simple test of reflexes. You'll need to press the right button when the indicator lands on the light blue field. Some vaults might require you to complete this challenge successfully a few times, all in a certain time limit.
