While players are eagerly diving into the world of Once Human, some are facing a real-world challenge: CPU overheat. People are reporting that their PCs are reaching concerning temperatures. Let’s explore solutions to keep your CPU cool and ensure smooth gameplay.

Once Human – How to Fix High CPU Usage

If you’re experiencing a high temperature on your CPU like other Once Human players, follow these steps to reduce it:

  1. Open the Control Panel: You can type it in the search bar at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Navigate to Power Options: Once in the Control Panel, look for Power Options, or use a search bar.
  3. Create a Custom Power Plan: Click on ‘Create a power plan’ and choose a name for it. Then, click ‘Next’ and finally ‘Create’.
  4. Fine-tune Power Settings: Click on ‘Change plan settings’ next to your newly created plan. Then, navigate to ‘Change advance power settings’.
  5. Adjust PCI: Look for ‘PCI Express’ and then ‘Link State Power Management. Here, choose ‘Moderate power savings’.
  6. Control Processor Power: Locate ‘Processor power management’ and adjust the settings. Set the minimum state to 80% and the maximum state to 90%. You can experiment with slightly higher settings later on to see if your PC handles them well.
  7. Save and enjoy the game: Click ‘Apply’ and then ‘OK’ to save the changes. These adjustments should help keep your CPU cooler while playing Once Human. Remember, that you can use this power settings only for this game.

You might notice a slight drop in FPS with these settings, However, it’s a small fee compared to a potential hardware meltdown. Additionally, closing any unnecessary background programs can further reduce the load on your CPU.
