The First Descendant – How to fix high CPU usage
If you’re experiencing a high temperature on your CPU like other The First Descendant players, here’s what you want to do:
- Open Control Panel, you can type it on the search bar at the bottom of your screen.
- Open Power Options, again you can search that by typing it in a bar in the Control Panel window.
- Click on Create a power plan, choose a name for your own plan and click on Next, then on Create.
- Open your plan by clicking on Change plan settings and go to Change advance power settings.
- Go to PCI Express, then Link State Power Management.
- Choose the Moderate power savings.
- Click on Processor power management. Set the minimum state at 80% and the maximum at 90% (you can experiment with slightly higher settings later to see if your PC handles them well).
- Click on Apply, then OK.
And there you have it. With these adjustments, your CPU should stay nice and cool. You might see a slight dip in FPS, but it’s a small price to pay compared to buying a brand new PC. Remember that closing unnecessary background programs can also help reduce CPU load.
