Alan Wake Remastered is a Flop; Switch Remains Last Hope

The remaster of the first Alan Wake did not turn out to be a bestseller. Sales of Remedy Entertainment's game, released in 2021, are an order smaller than the developers expected. In addition, the game is generating worse and worse results every month.

Remaster of the first Alan Wake did not turn out to be a bestseller. According to the revealed information, sales of Remedy Entertainment's game from 2021 stands much lower level than the developers expected. In addition, month by month the game is generating worse and worse results.

Popular predecessor

The situation seems rather strange and unexpected, since the original version of the game, debuting in 2010 on Xbox 360 and 2 years later on PC, turned out to be quite a success for the Finnish studio. The game also enjoyed positive reviews (both among reviewers and players). It is therefore puzzling why sales of the remastered version stand at such a poor level.

Switch the last resort

The last hope for Alan Wake Remastered seems to be the edition for Nintendo Switch. After all, in 2021 the remaster debuted on PC and 8th- and 9th-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft. The Nintendo console port, on the other hand, was released only two weeks ago. It is quite possible that the game from Max Payne devs will rise from its knees thanks to this platform. At the moment, however, the studio is paying much more attention to, among other things, the second installment of the series, which is due to appear on the market next year.
