StarKeeper is an economic strategy in which we run a space tavern. The title was developed by the independent Polish company Longterm Games, which has existed since 2020 and is engaged in both production and publishing of video games.

The plot of

StarKeeper takes us to a science fiction universe, or more precisely - to a galaxy torn by conflict between feuding factions. During the gameplay, we play the role of the owner of a tavern located on the surface of an asteroid hurtling through space.

Our actions and decisions not only determine how this unusual business will turn out, but also influence the distribution of power in the planetary systems we visit, and consequently - the situation in the whole piece of the universe at our disposal.

Gameplay

In the StarKeeper game, everything related to running a space tavern rests on our shoulders. Our eyes are the customers visiting us from different corners of the galaxy, whose species and faction affiliation affects their preferences and needs. Among them you will find both carnivores and vegans, as well as peaceful beings or, on the contrary, conflict-averse members of intolerant groups, who in extreme cases may refuse to be in the same room with representatives of other factions.

In order to meet their expectations, we must take care of the appropriate decor of the tavern and rooms for our guests, which can be maintained in a variety of styles - from military, to futuristic, to religious. In addition, it is worth thinking in advance about the appropriate infrastructure, since in addition to tables and chairs, our tavern should also include such facilities as decontaminators, gaming machines and fuel dispensers, among others. We unlock new design elements by interacting with factions.

Above all, however, the success of our tavern is determined by what we serve in it. During our space travels we visit various planetary systems, and thus gain access to various planets (including tropical and icebound), which are sources of valuable ingredients. In addition, we use specialized kitchen tools to expand the menu, as well as new technologies that we unlock in the course of the game; they allow us, among other things, to collect resources from asteroids and process them, or even to build greenhouses and worm nests.

If we do everything right, the news about our tavern begins to spread quickly in the cosmos, which is reflected in the growing number of zeros in our account; thanks to the money we earn over time, we can hire more and more robotic workers who will help us in many activities. Unfortunately, not everything is within our control here; we regularly have to face the negative consequences of random events, such as flyovers through nebulae that change our guests' mood, destructive meteor showers or, finally, galactic wars.
