Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido is a lighthearted production mixing the elements of arcade, logic, or role playing games. The game was developed by Nintendo.

Plot

The main hero (or heroine) of Sushi Striker: Way of Sushido is Musashi, a character living in a world where sushi was banned following a terrible war. The protagonist has to defeat a powerful empire to get rid of its monopoly for this ware.

Mechanics

The gameplay of Sushi Striker: Way of Sushido sees us engage in battles that take place in the upper part of the screen (the bottom part of the screen is inhabited by our hero). The player has to click on the plates with food that appear between both heroes and move on a device similar to a conveyor belt. Every click enables us to eat the given meal, but one has to choose his food cautiously. The used plates are laid in stacks in front of your character and can be used to throw them at your opponent – more plates of the same color means more damage dealt. Finally, we can utilize special abilities activated through so-called sushi ghosts that can be equipped and used during the fight.

Aside from the main course i.e. arcade-logic battles, the player also engages in the exploration of a three-dimensional world (unfortunately, our hero is depicted by a two-dimensional sprite) – this element was realized in an uncomplicated way but enables us to gather items and talk with the encountered characters. The game also enables us to choose the gender of our character.

Game Modes

Sushi Striker: Way of Sushido offers a single player campaign, as well as local and online multiplayer modes.

Technical Aspects

Sushi Striker: Way of Sushido offers simple graphics. Most of the time, the game is two-dimensional with additional 3D elements (e.g. the game’s world in the exploration mode). The visual style is influenced by manga – we also subjected to animated cut-scenes done in the same vein.
